FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., May 14, 2008 – D-Link today introduced the newest member of its award-winning Xtreme N™ product family, the DAP-1522 Wireless Bridge, which enables users to create a powerful Wi-Fi bridge to the home entertainment system using the latest draft 802.11n technology. The DAP-1522 connects up to 4 wired devices to an existing wireless network to lend high performance to the home entertainment system for HD transfers, online gaming and more.

The new D-Link® Wireless Bridge allows users to connect Ethernet-Enabled devices such as game consoles, digital video recorders (DVR), and digital media players (such as the D-Link MediaLounge® product line) to a built-in 4-port Gigabit switch. The DAP-1522 then connects these devices to an existing Wi-Fi network with next-generation dual-band 11n (2.4GHz or 5GHz) wireless technology. The DAP-1522 can also connect devices to a legacy 802.11g network.
The D-Link Wireless Bridge has selectable 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands, both of which are part of the upcoming 802.11n standard. The less-crowded 5GHz band is ideal for wirelessly streaming HD videos across your network, helping avoid interference by providing a clearer wireless band for transferring HD signals and other bandwidth intensive network applications.

The Wi-Fi certified DAP-1522 can also be used to create a new 11n wireless network using its Access Point feature by connecting it to an existing wired or wireless router. This scenario can place a DAP-1522 as both a ‘send’ and ‘receive’ unit, with one connected at the router where the broadband connection comes in and the other at the home entertainment center or wherever there is a need to connect one or more wired devices.

“The DAP-1522 delivers superior wireless performance, clarity and coverage,” said A.J. Wang, Chief Technology Officer, D-Link. “It offers an ideal solution for creating or expanding a powerful wireless 802.11n network for virtually any networked device in the home.”

The DAP-1522, with a manufacturer`s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $119.99, is available now through D-Link`s wide network of retailers, online resellers and D-Link`s own online store, www.dlinkshop.com.
